Sadism & Weak Mindedness
I’ll be out of the loop for a few days comin up as we are doing some more training that takes me away from my computer, so if this place is a little quiet, that’s why. Oh and if your comment isn’t showing up right away, lemme recap that if you have not posted on here since the new database transfer, you need to have your first comment authorized, to get your name on the friendly list, so just be patient as they will show up as soon as someone goes in and authorizes the comment. Seeing as I’ll be out of the loop, Chad might do it, but don’t expect immediate results as he is a pretty busy guy and has an expecting wife, so as you can imagine, he’s probably getting off work to come home and make runs to Super 1 Foods for ice cream for the wiff. So he should be pretty busy for the next few months…well….actually make that years. BWAAA HAHAHAAAA!!
———————————
But anyway, my brain has not been as…”intellectual” as it used to be, cuz we’re pretty busy runnin around training all the time…my mind tends to turn away from the “deeper things in life” when that happens. Speaking of….
It’s weird, but I think my brain turns off when I’m doing push ups cuz today I couldn’t even talk straight while I was pushing the floor off my chest. Kind of embarassing really. Granted I was kind of tired….but you’d think just keeping your words in line wouldn’t be too difficult.
So we’re on break and we’re just shootin the shoot(ooooo, nice recovery) and someone said something to try to trip me up and I answered back and they thought I freakin botched it up. I new exactly what they said I freakin told em I did, but they still laughed anyway, so I’m tryin to explain myself….obviously something that is not allowed in the military cuz when you do they tell you do push ups. So I’m doin my push ups and they tell me to recover. “Recover” is the command to…well….recover from what you’re doing. Anyway, there’s a special way to recover here that’s kinda reminiscent to the pull up scene in Full Metal Jacket. “One for the Corps! One for the Commandant!….Well, I guess the Corps don’t get their’s today.” But anyway, to explain, you give one push up for every section that you are attached to ie: Corps, Brigade, Battalion, Company, Platoon, Squad, and then one final push up for the “Great Master Blaster JumpMaster in the sky”. Then you get up and go about your business. So anyway…to make an already long story even longer, I kept screwin my freakin words up while I was attempting to “recover”. I kept switchin out the words Battalion and Brigade, so I had to start over like 10 freakin times…..and that adds up to alot of push ups.
Oh and as a cute little bonus, after I FINALLY get it right, I’m sittin down and someone says “*Sure Fire’s* gonna have the best PT score in the platoon.” And if you aren’t catchin the connotation’s, that means I get smoked alot….which means they might as well just kick me in the ribs while I’m pushin cuz that’s not somethin I’m too proud of. Sure it’s all fun ‘n’ games in the end, but if there’s one thing going through a private’s mind while they’re getting smoked…it’s “This is freakin stupid. I hate this. When will this crap end?” etc, etc. And feelings of ill will are not too far off either. So to crack jokes on the spot about that kinda crap only fuels the fire.
And just a little poll here. How many of you have ever tried to make someone “crack” with constant beratings. What exactly do you get out of it? I never understood that stuff.
But it’s all good…if there’s one thing I’ve never been able to keep, it’s a grudge. I’m going to wake up tomorrow and will have either totally forgotten about this, or I just won’t care anymore. But as it is, I’m just putting this out to learn you all some lesson’s in how to be sadistic. But don’t be….there aint nothin funny about it.

They’re “cracking” you for a reason. Think about where you’re going and what you could face, and think about how you’ll know how to handle that. You need the experience. But this is the first stage. They’re just playing with your head right now. Take it easy. You’ll be just fine. You’re made of some tough stuff.
You’re crazy, but I like your humor. My brothers try to crack me all the time, it’s just the way boys are.
cowboy up dude
I got yer back, little brother. But the truth is… you really arn’t cool enough to get comments from new and amazing people.
But either way, I changed the options around so that a new commenter won’t need a previously approved comment.
Just do the pushups and quit yer bitching.

You will be a stud in no time!
Shut up and push up.
I ran into my basic DI after my first tour in Nam. I walked up and shook his hand and thanked him for what he taught me.
It saved my ass several times on the first, second, third tour in Nam, Panama and DS and several other places I got to visit.
You jump when told and duck when told or you come back in a bag.

I’ve been on the recieving end of both bullshit and apprenticeship. I’ve noticed the obvious fact that one can catch more flys with honey than with vinigar. And the results stick.
